Striking autumnal colours were on full display in Door County, Wisconsin.  From a typical fish boil, cheese tastings, cherry treats, to hikes in Whitefish Dune State Park, an ascent of the Cana lighthouse and strolls along the shoreline of Lake Michigan, it was a trip that highlighted the pride and self-sufficiency of the people of Door County. Perfect as a long weekend destination, filled with quaint shopping, rustic bed and breakfasts, and quiet lakeside charm, Door County has the genuine appeal of rural, small town America.
