The triumphant return of
Norfolk & Western Class J 611 Steam Passenger Locomotive

It's a sight to behold.  Taking the Norfolk & Western Class J 611 from Lynchburg to Roanoke, there is a steady stream of eager onlookers, young and old along our journey, stopping on highways, in open fields, farms and along the train tracks, with giddy excitement in their eyes.  When we finally stop at the Virginia Museum of Transportation in Roanoake, there is a sea of people waving hands to welcome home the Class J 611.

Onboard the 611, passengers exclaim, "look at all the people- they have to have been waiting out there for hours in the heat."  Though a 'démodé' form of transportation in other regions of the world, the fanfare and jubilee experienced here makes it feel apt for such a special place.

A team from City Style and Living Magazine just returned from a whirlwind tour of Virginia's blue ridge- with sweeping natural beauty, country charm and friendly folks,  it was easy to have a "Blue Ridge Day."

Look out for much more Virginia in an upcoming issue of City Style and Living Magazine.
